Title: Sports Management Intern
Location: Duluth, MN, Superior, WI
Commitment: Part-time / Seasonal / Academic Credit Eligible

Northland Sports Management (NSM) is a community-oriented sports operations and management company based in Superior, WI. NSM specializes in soccer club operations, game day management, sponsorship sales, and sports marketing. NSM works directly with clubs, venues, and community partners to deliver professional-level sporting experiences.
NSM Interns play a hands-on role in the daily operations of multiple soccer clubs. This internship is designed to provide real-world experience across game day operations, sports management and administration, and social media and advertising. Interns will work closely with NSM leadership and gain exposure to the business side of sports.
This is a flexible and multifaceted internship, so responsibilities may vary based on the intern's interests, skill set, and seasonal needs.
Hourly Wage: $13.00 per hour (game day hours only)
Commission: 10% of gross sponsorship revenue generated
Northland Sports Management interns will be compensated at an hourly rate for all scheduled game day shifts. Each game day typically requires approximately three (3) hours, including setup and teardown.
In addition, interns are eligible to earn commission on sponsorship sales. A commission of ten percent (10%) will be paid for each sponsorship agreement that the intern helps facilitate in partnership with the Sales Manager.
Assist with match day setup, breakdown, and venue coordination
Support ticket sales, entry operations, and security
Assist with merchandise and concessions operations
Coordinate with volunteers, vendors, and event staff
Help ensure a positive and professional game day experience for fans and partners
Assist with player registration and league compliance tasks
Support sponsorship sales efforts, including prospect research and outreach
Help manage sponsor fulfillment and activation on game days
Assist with administrative duties such as scheduling, reporting, and record-keeping
Support coordination with leagues, clubs, and community partners
Coordinate with vendors, food trucks, and suppliers
Desired Qualifications
Interest in sports management, business, marketing, communications, or related fields
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work evenings and weekends (game days required)
Comfortable working in fast-paced, live-event environments
Self-motivated and eager to learn
Hands-on experience in semi-professional and amateur sports operations
Exposure to sponsorship sales and sports management strategy
Real responsibility and resume-building experience
College Credit
Potential pathway to expanded roles with Northland Sports Management

Experience using graphic design software
Photography experience
